The Library and Information Centre acts as a “Resource Centre “for the college and renders information services to its users. The collection development policy of the centre envisages the “Resource Management” of the institute. The centre is building resources   in areas of Sciences and Engineering as a core area, in different formats to tune with institutional needs. The totally automated library services are accessible on the Campus wide network.

Our role is to provide access to the information resources required by members of the college for research , learning and teaching. There is a wealth of material to support learning and research at the College; over 42,000 printed volumes and an extensive range of high quality electronic resources. Many resources are accessible from off-campus via the Internet.

Central Computing Facility (CCF) with an excellent working ambience is a newly added costliest building (Built using TEQIP grant) which provides computing facility to the institution. This facility which functions 14 hours a day, Provides all types of computing requirement to the users.

  CCF with an area of about 950 sq. meters, built at a cost of Rs. 26 million houses two labs with nearly seventy computers each, two meeting rooms, a browsing centre, a server room, and seminar hall.The labs are air conditioned and are equiped with public address system, projection facility and a smart board. The access to the computing facility with the backbone of fiber optic cable connections (10GBPS capacity) is provided over the entire campus through Wi- Fi & ISDN Connectivity. The internet bandwidth of 4MBPS at the moment is likely to be enhanced soon. The facilities like IP-Telephony, Security Surveillance and video conferencing are integrated within the network. The college also provides an intranet facility.

EDUSAT is the first Indian satellite built exclusively for serving the educational sector. It is mainly intended to meet the demand for an interactive satellite based distance education system for the country. It strongly reflects India’s commitment to use space technology for national development, especially for the development of the population in remote and rural locations.

       

The Estate and Maintenance Office of the institute provides reliable service with a Professional touch.

A public relations (PR) officer uses all forms of media and communication to build, maintain and manage the relations with the public sector.
         

One of the major concerns of parents about their wards is the facilities of security and vigilance. SDMCET promises parental care to students by providing excellent security.

             

A fleet of five buses and more than five light vehicles provide for the conveyance of students and staff  both, within campus and outside campus. The institute runs Buses from Dharwad and Hubli.

             

The Medical facility is available on campus for students. It also takes care of preliminary medical treatment.

A post office facility is available in the college campus which is authorized by a postal system for the posting, receipt, sorting, handling, transmission or delivery of mails. It offers mail-related services such as post office boxes, postage , Speed post and packaging supplies.  Banking services will be provided by the Bank (The Karnataka Bank Ltd.) which is also present in the campus.

The SDMCET Students Consumers Co-operative Stores caters to the needs right from stationery and cutlery items to cosmetics and other materials. Educational aids are made available. A student can rely on this store for his/her every requirement.

The institute has an excellent Auditorium which Acts as student Activity Centre for practicing and performing cultural programs and competitions. It has more than 500 seating Capacity. A seminar hall having more than 100 seating capacity is available for conducting seminar/workshop, small and medium gathering functions.

The college campus extends over a lush green terrain with a captivating architectural edifice to suit an ideal academic ambience.  A lot of emphasis is given to maintain hygienic environment. Nursery & Horticulture section is available on the campus. The Nursery & Horticulture section may act as a refreshing center for its visitors.
             

The College campus has a Fast food center & a Canteen which ensures quality food . The centers will be kept open in the evenings also.

             

A coffee shop & the bakery shop which are present in the campus , adds a welcome touch to the warm settings of the college.The shops will be kept open in the evenings also.
